2012 5K AND 10K RESULTS

THE 6th ANNUAL AMERICAN HEROES: SALUTE TO VETRANS 5K & 10K

We are taking it up a notch this year! The American Heroes 5K, 10K & 1 Mile Fun Run is a family event, with fun for all ages!  After the event, join us at the Five Star Complex for Fireworks show, Concert, Car Show and Carnival!  Runners and walkers of all ages and abilities are encouraged to register! 

FINISHER MEDALS FOR 10k!

10k Finishers will receive a beautiful finisher medal from the American Heroes Run.  A photo of the medals is posted below. 

WHAT YOU GET FOR YOUR ENTRY FEE!

  • Finisher medals for all 10k finishers

  • Jaguar timing with the chip in the bib!

  • Free parking next to the start/finish line

  • Proceeds go into the Post 21's General Fund and are used for:

    • Assisting local veterans in need

    • Boys State Sponsorships (Program for high school 11th grade boys)

    • Oratorical Contest Sponsorships (Public Speaking Program for high school students)

    • The Colony High School JROTC Drill Meet Sponsorship

    • Maintenance and fees for Post 21's military vehicle

    • Other Misc Post 21 financial needs

FINISHER MEDALS AND AWARDS

All 10k finishers get a finisher medal designed like the American Legion Post 21 logo.  We will have American Heroes Run Awards in both distances for the top male and female overall and masters finisher.  The 10k age groups are: 9 & under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+. And the 5k age groups are: 5 & under, 6-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64,

65-69, 70+.

JAGUAR TIMING AT THE AMERICAN HEROES RUN

The timing chip will be in your bib number at the American Heroes 5k & 10k. No need to attach anything to your shoe. Put your bib on and you are good to go. This is the latest and greatest technology in race timing.   Age group awards will be based on chip time. Overall awards will be based on gun time.


PACKET PICKUP

Friday, November 9 from Noon to 6pm at The Colony Recreation Center, 5151 N Colony Blvd.  You may also get your packet on race day.

DIRECTIONS

3700 Sparks Road, The Colony, TX 75056

From Highway 121:

  • Take FM 423 / Main Street (Josey) North approximately 2 miles

  • Take a left at North Colony Blvd.

  • Take North Colony Blvd. approximately 1.5 miles into Stewart Creek Park. North Colony Blvd. becomes Sparks Road when you enter the park.

PARKING

There will be plenty of parking near the event. Reminder: The park will close to any oncoming traffic starting at 7:45AM.

All entrants will receive a unique American Heroes Run t-shirt with their entry.
